Today, Leisa and I were asked to speak
at Christian International School of Prague (CISP), during their
Chapel. Our contacts this month, John & Kelsie, have children who
attend there and Kelsie, also works there several days a week as the
school nurse. I was very excited for this opportunity. One thing I’ve
really enjoyed this year is visiting so many different schools and
interacting with the kids.
We arrived at the school at 8:30am. We
walked through these huge doors and up the stairs and into such an
old, beautiful-similar to something you’d see out of an old
movie-building. I instantly fell in love with the school. There was
artwork on the walls and decorations for fall hanging throughout the
hallway.
We were greeted by the Gregory’s and
were ushered into the gym, where Chapel would be held. Pretty soon
the Chapel band started playing. We sang several songs, which I
loved. Then it was time to share a little about my trip. I talked
about God’s timing and how I’ve learned it’s perfect. I talked about
how in 5th grade I decided I wanted to travel the world,
but had to wait 16 years before I could do it. And when I first heard
about the World Race, it was in 2008, and I had to wait two years
until I went on the race. So I reminded them that we may want
something NOW, but God says, WAIT…IT WILL COME.
(*Mind you, as I was telling them, it was also a personal
reminder.)
Chapel was over for the high schoolers
and then we moved upstairs to meet with the little ones. It was now
Leisa’s turn to share. She shared a message about how when you follow
God you get to do some “pretty cool things,” like hiking up a
volcano or going on a safari. It was so sweet watching the kids ask
questions and seeing how excited they were.
of the entire day, was when the teacher made all the kids stand up
and once their passport was called, they sat down. There were
children from all over the world. They came from; Poland, Greece,
Nigeria, India, France, Ukraine and one little guy even yelled out,
Mars-too funny. We then sang: Jesus Loves the Little Children
and for the first time ever, I had tears in my eyes singing that
song. That song really meant a lot to me that day. He truly loves the
children of the world, I’ve seen the children of the world.
God’s overwhelming goodness set in, once again. It was a great day! I
loved our morning at this school. And as we left I thanked God again
for allowing me this opportunity.
