Greetings from a world away!
My team and I have just finished two months on the island of Hispaniola, first in Haiti, then in the Dominican Republic. In Haiti, we worked with two different orphanages, one in the beautiful mountains of Haiti, and one in a tent community in the heart of the destruction of the earthquake. In both places we were met with a hunger and excitement for the fulfillment of Christ and the redemption of His love and grace. God has shown me so much how in these extreme situations, desperation is birthed, which truly allows for lasting dependency. In the Dominican Republic, we were partnered with a church in a rural community whose pastors were trying to draw their community out of an apathetic knowledge of God into a functioning fellowship of Christ followers through discipleship and door to door outreach. We were blessed by the ways God simply led us, so that in our obedience we could speak life, love, and purpose into His children. We also got to lead vacation Bible school, and were given the blessed responsibility of pouring into the youth of that community, helping cultivate a generation whose hearts are being set on God.
I am only on month three of this great journey with God, but so blessed by the ways that God is using and growing myself and my team, and so eagerly excited for the months to come. Here in Ireland we are partnered with a family who is building up a church in Brey, a suburb of Dublin, as well as ministering to the Travelers, an outcast society within the Irish heritage, casting out the spirit of oppression over this place, and replacing it with the redemption that comes from the love of Christ. From here we will be serving a month in Romania, working with gypsies and spreading the same message of God’s love everywhere we go. We are then off to Africa for three months, where we will go face to face with the pains and realities of the AIDs epidemic, helping and encouraging hurting people and loving the parentless orphans who are the innocent victims of the horrors of the epidemic. Lastly we will be spending our remaining four months throughout Asia, bringing love and healing to daughters of devastatingly young ages, sold and trapped in sex trafficking.
As a support funded missionary, I am in dire need of financial support. The entire cost of this mission trip for the entire 11 months is $14,300. We are continually raising support as we are on the field, and in order to continue we must meet specific markers in allotted amounts of time, otherwise we are sent home. I am currently supported at $4,504, and I must meet a minimum account balance of $8,000 by September 30 in order to continue. In that urgency, I ask that you pray for that amount to be met, and if God has laid it on your heart, you may contribute under the support tab.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I pray that you may be blessed in sharing in my experiences, and encourage you to share my blog and my organization with others. God bless!
