Our month of ministry in Phuket is completed. For the next 5 days, we will be debriefing before heading out to Cambodia for this month’s ministry. The women from Team Concrete flew into Bangkok from Phuket last night, arriving at 1:30 AM. When we walked out of the baggage claim area, our taxi driver and new friend, Mr. Witchet, had a sign with “The World Race” written on it, so we knew to go with him. Part of me felt like a celebrity, but I knew that it is done for all groups that fly into Bangkok and stay at the YWAM (Youth with a Mission) base.
About half an hour later, we arrived sleepy-eyed at YWAM and were warmly welcomed by the Thai staff. We dug our bags out of storage from when we stayed here last month. While in the storage room, I spotted a stack of packages and letters that were delivered for the Racers. I looked through them and was overwhelmed by what I saw!
Ok, I know I cheated by opening the packages today, even though they were intended for my birthday (Tuesday). But I just couldn’t resist! I felt so loved. I had birthday cards from many of my mom’s co-workers, old friends, and my house church in Indy (holla!). In the packages were notes, “The Office” memorabilia (my favorite TV show), lots of candy, new books to read, homemade cookies, my favorite pens (I’m very picky), pretty Sharpies, and a Halloween costume (who doesn’t need that?). There were even cute new clothes, which are such a blessing when you have to wear the same thing every 5 days.

Basically, what I’m trying to say is thank you to everyone who sent something! I felt so special and could feel the love on the other side of the world. I feel so incredibly blessed to have such sweet and generous people in my life. Thank you!!
