Hello Everyone!
Having lived 18 years in the little town of Maumelle, Arkansas, I’ve experienced all kinds of emotions upon finding out that I’ll be packing up my things and saying goodbye to this little town for 9 months.
In this time, I’ll be covering 3 countries, all in all, adding up to about 25,000 miles of distance covered from pulling out of my driveway to getting off an airplane at the Clinton National Airport a loooong 200-and-something days later.
All for one purpose – to love.
What an amazing opportunity that I have to be able to go and show the world that there is hope, not to mention the incredible new friendships and memories I’ll make along the way. While the title may be deceiving, none of this is about me at all. It’s about using the gifts given to me to fulfill a much greater calling than go get culture shock and backpack across the middle east (although, if you’re in search of a prayer request, I’m gonna need some serious motivation to get yoked enough to carry my entire life on my back everywhere we go).
However, I am going to stay true to the title, as far as blogging goes, and tell you a little about who I am.
My name is Lauren! (I don’t know why there’s an exclamation point there! But yay!)
I love to travel, I start about three times as many books as I finish (the motivation issue again…), and I drink my tea heavily sweetened – as any proud Arkansas girl should. I love to learn and I have a sweet spot for music of all kinds. Ironically, I’m incredibly complicated but somehow, this entire paragraph sums me up well.
I can’t wait to share my journey with you and I hope that you will all grow alongside me as I take on the world to share the light of Christ and shine hope down on each of these beautiful nations.
With love, Lauren
Isaiah 6:8 – Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
