This is Kotor, Montenegro….built over 1,000 years ago it is the least evangelized city in the Balkan region. It has little more than 125 Christians total and many who have never read or held a Bible nor heard the name of Jesus before.
It might be hard to believe that based off of where this country is located – just across the Adriatic Sea from Italy, in a modernized and very touristy coast…but having been here one week I can see the churches here are more like museums than places of worship.
We are working with Shiloh Ministries (http://shilohmin.weebly.com/kotor.html) headed up by Phil Smythe a missionary from South Africa. Our mission here is to build relationships, connect them with the ministry, and ultimately see them come to know Jesus! We go where God leads us…..He is the Sovereign Lord and will cross our paths with who we need to talk to and love. He loves these people more than we do! That’s why He sent us and Phil here to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them!
We attended the Shiloh ministries church service last night. The church meets in a hotel in the Old Town area. My team and I saw two people there that we had invited earlier that day to come. Boro and Goca live and work around where we live….it is so exciting to see their decisions to follow Christ and then to follow up with them this month!
Please please join us in praying for this city and country. They are in need of Jesus. Pray for us to listen and obey as the Spirit leads…..Please pray for open hearts in the people God crosses our paths with…We have already witnessed His leading and had opportunities to share Jesus’ love with them!
AMEN!
Making an impact for His kingdom here!
More stories to come!!!!!
