Greetings!!!
In preparation for my World Race journey I spent a week in Georgia at the World Race Training camp. It was an amazing time and here are a few take-aways that I think apply to us all!!!
Each one of the take-aways has a story behind it and is something I experienced/learned while at training camp….ALL of which will help me as I travel around the world this next year!
10. It is OK for me not to have a schedule
I didn’t have one all week at camp.
9. 55 adults can “sleep” on a school bus together
One of the many sleeping scenarios we were given.
8. Everyone should sleep under the stars at least once!
7. I can live with less stuff than I think
Especially when my luggage is lost by the airlines!
6. I want to eat more ethnic foods
We ate food from each continent we are going too…
5. Everyone’s got a story – listen to it!
4. Meal times should be more about the people I’m with than about the food.
3. Don’t miss the small things…
Someone shared their Oreo cookies with me – after not having eaten dessert all week!
2. Sharing weaknesses & being vulnerable is good & reveals God’s power!
And #1. Be present where you are…
Other things that happened at Training Camp…
-I got to meet my SQUAD (K Squad) of 55 people. My squad will travel together to each other, but when we get to the country we will split up into our TEAMS….
-My TEAM, called The Surrendered, is made up of 7 people including, Me, Joshua, Courtney, John Michael, Chris, Margeaux, & Taylor.
My team is who I will be serving and living with day to day. I’m SUPER pumped for all God will do in and through us this next year!
THANKS for your support!!!
For Him,
Lauren
