THE WORLD RACE.
Since the day I found out what those three words together meant, I have felt this indescribable yearning in my heart.
The World Race is a program through Adventures in Missions. It is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the globe. I could not be more thrilled that I get to be a part of this trip! It has only been something I’ve been dreaming of…literally.
On the World Race I will be living in raw, authentic community with the poor, the sick, the hungry, the widowed and the orphaned. Living out of just a backpack, I will be sleeping in a tent or on floors. My team and I will partner with churches, ministries and organizations in the local communities to serve “the least of these” (Mathew 25:40).
What will this serving look like? It may look like muddy hands and smelly armpits haha from building houses or paving roads. It may look like befriending prostitutes and gypsies, sharing my faith, giggling with orphans, teaching English, helping in medical centers, praying and caring for the sick and dying and so much more that I can’t even imagine. I will be sharing love. The love of The Father.
11 COUNTRIES. 11 MONTHS. 1 AGENDA. LOVE.
IT WONT BE EASY or COMFORTABLE. Living in some of the most painful parts of the world. Being completely abandoned by familiarity of friends, family and material belongings. Living in different cultures, perhaps unable to communicate efficiently. Sharing my testimony to complete strangers. Taking cold showers if at all. Saying goodbye 11 different times to countless people I will share my heart with. Leaving 11 different places I will call home.
BUT IT WILL BE BEAUTIFUL. Meeting new friends and creating life long friendships, indulging into places of the unknown. Worshiping in the ruins of Peru or in the villages of Moldova. Adventuring across places I’ve never heard of. Completely relying on God. Growing in my faith and in Christian community. Being the hands and feet of Christ.
Why?
The World Race is something that I’ve been looking for subconsciously and even consciously.
You see, I had the chance to experience it all. I’ve always had family and friends there for me, whether they wanted to be or not haha 
food on my plate, a warm house to sleep in, education and above all a relationship with the Lord.
Who am I to be given with such wonderful things?
Since I’ve been given so much, why not share it? The Lord tells us to…
“Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:8)
SO HOW CAN I DO THAT!?!
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” ( Isaiah 6:8)
THE WORLD RACE. Through The World Race I am able dedicate 11 months to fully and completely trust and serve God by abandoning all I know and serving others to the ends of the Earth.
