I love India soooo much! Just thought you should all know
that.
Last month we were in India. It’s not all beautiful and
smelling of a rose, that’s for sure. There is trash thrown on the streets and
ground everywhere. They don’t use garbage cans but use anywhere outside instead
to throw their waste.
Cows are everywhere roaming the streets. The cows own the
roads. These cows are considered holy so you wouldn’t dare to try to move them
out of the way of the vehicles. Tuk Tuk’s (3 wheeled motorcycle taxis) zoom
through the streets, not minding pedestrians.
Despite all the dirtiness and craziness, I fell in love with
India.
I consider India “The land of worship.
We would travel into the villages of India each day to pray
for people and share the word of God. I would say that 99.5% of the people we
encountered in the villages had Hindu beliefs. They had many idols inside their
homes along with other symbols of their religion on their bodies and outside
their homes.
When we would go into each village people would flood out
from their homes coming to us for prayer. They were so desperate for help from
the lord. The issue was that they believe in so many different gods therefor it
was difficult for me to know if they truly understood who we were praying to.
Did they know the one true God? Did they truly know who it was we were praying
to on their behalf?
I longed so much for them to understand who God was. To find
what I know they have been searching for; the one true living God.
When I say that India is the land of worship, I mean that
these people pour out themselves, give their lives to whatever god or gods they
are serving. Whether they were Hindu, Muslim or Christian, I could see their
passion for their gods.
The Christian Indians where such an inspiration to me. We
would go to church on Sundays and seeing the people worship amazed me. They
would be on their knees, hands raised, crying out to Jesus.
As I saw the tears running down this elderly women’s face
one Sunday morning, I realized the passion, love, and desire that she had for
God. I looked around the church and saw other similar sites . They filled the
church with worship and praise.
I have been so inspired by these people to give more of
myself to God. Not just more but all of myself, to raise my hands in surrender
and cry out to him more than before. I want to experience God as these Indians
do.
