God has been working in my life this month. He has placed people I am with to pour life into me and to be there in the midst of everything I have been going through. He has brought people to laugh when I am ecstatic, people to pour my feelings out to and people to bring out the hard stuff I need to learn and work on. He has truly blessed me with people who are chasing after his own heart.
This month has been “easy” ministry wise because it has not been go, go, go as it would have been if we were at an orphanage or other places. We have had a lot of time to spend time with the lord together with devotions and spending time pouring into each other’s lives.
We have been staying with Ma and Pa Haynes, a couple who give all they have to their community and to follow the lord. They have a ministry that they run here in their house called The Jeremiah Project. They have after school activities for the children and teens such as bible study and dance classes. The children love to come to Ma and Pa’s house when they get out of school each day, for they know how to love these kids as if they were their own.
Each Friday Ma prepares a meal for the community. Sometimes she makes a curry or soup. She makes so much food so that anyone can come and eat. This is a continual thing as in it happens every Friday rain or shine. They make sure they have food for their community even before themselves.
I have had the chance to hear Ma and Pa’s story and it is amazing how God is using them to pour out his love to the people surrounding them in the same way he has shown them his everlasting grace and love.
I see the love of God so much in this family. They serve their neighbors and love everyone even though many of them do drugs and take advantage of them. Many people do crystal meth in this area.  They have guns but only use them in situations where they really need to get their hands on more drugs. It’s sad because I have met so many people who have lost loved ones due to being shot by the drug dealers.
The children here are so loving. They love to have us here to spend time playing with them or just to hang out with them. Many have parents who don’t take good care of them. They would rather sit at home or do drugs, leaving their children to play in the streets and do anything they want.
Over all this month was amazing. Capetown is beautiful beyond belief. It takes your breath away going to the coast to look out over the ocean.
Thank you all for all your prayer and support for me as I have been on the race. Your prayers have made a huge impact on this journey so far and will continue to affect the way everything goes.
