It has been forever since I have blogged but I will try to blog more since I am in Thailand and this is for sure the land of internet and technology.  I love Bangkok so much and the people here. My day is involved with greetings of stopping, bowing with my hands in prayer position while saying hello which is “Swaaaa-tiiii-caaaa”.  I cannot point at anything or cross my legs. It has been definitely been an adventure and let me tell you how me and my team made it to Bangkok.

Previously in Swaziland, the land of sugar canes and farms, I was put on an all girls team which I fell in love with. Meg, Chelsey, Cassie, and Julie are incredible women. I learned so much. Then I absolutely adored the tight community you can have on an all girls team. The thing I said on the race that I never wanted to be on an all girls team, then after I said I never want to be on a team with guys. So I started speaking that out. I prayed and said allowed so God would hear that I want an all girls team, ATL (which is “Ask the Lord”), and located in Bangkok. Crazy thing is, my wish came true.

This month I am with five amazing women. Our team name is 112 which is from the verse in I Timothy 1:12 that says, “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service”. This was about right for our team. The month of September is the biggest adventure for the whole race for me. We are looking for contacts and “Unsung Hero’s” that are shining the light of Jesus in this dark city. We have come across some incredible ministries that we cannot wait to see and be apart of. Organizations that deal with prostitutes,  lady boys, homeless, and creating hope in a society surrounded by ancestry and Buddhism. We get to Bangkok without a clue and were given a name of a lady named “Cham Poo” which means pink in English. She welcomes us to her church, her ministry of teaching English in this community, and also singing and guitar lessons. Going to church yesterday was incredible. All the elderly know English and they are so funny. I had nothing but joys and memories that take me back to Mckinsey Park. (my mom’s job) But She has helped us get acquainted with the busy city of Bangkok, gave us a roof to stayunder, and also has blessed us with lunches and meeting her community.

God keeps answering the prayers. I really want my life to be like this. Maybe not knowing where I will stay or my agenda in life, but really praying that God would show up to my adventure of life. He has divine appointments and people to meet. I get to spend my whole month in ultimate surrender and get to see how God shows up and respond. He did for my team and my race, He knows my heart and desires. He also knows the things that I have no clue that I want or even desire but giving it all to him is where I get to see him show up, like in every avenue of this month. We have no clue where we will be heading on Wednesday or the next person or ministry we will connect with, but God will have us exactly where he wants. I write that in confidence and faith that my God is so incredible.

*I will be sure to keep you updated on what God is doing. Hopefully soon I can talk to you about lady boy ministries and bar ministries!  J
