The Lord has been putting fasting on my heart lately. In the Old Testament fasting is referred to as afflicting yourself before The Lord. In doing this you are taking your focus off of yourself and turning to Him in full reliance to petition for your request.
Well God has called me to for a fast for freedom for India. Too often we are not bold in our request to The Lord. He is almighty and all powerful. He wants us to make request boldly in His name. C.S. Lewis said "It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased."
I am no longer pleased with millions of people not knowing the Father and this is a bold request. I want to petition God for every soul in India to be saved. I no longer want India to be referred to as the country of a million gods. India is called to be the country of the one true God. Jesus reigns in this place and we have the power of His name is us through the Holy Spirit. God has the ultimate authority not only in heaven above but here on earth today. The Father can and wants to change the hearts of the Indian people.
So tomorrow, on April 23rd, I am inviting you to fast with me and others for India. To fast for freedom. This is a country with the potential for greatness. The people of India have the power to do great things for the kingdom. The Bible says that when two or more people are gathered and call on the name of The Lord there His presence will be. Well, I know there will be more than two people gathering for this petition. The goal now is to have so many people petitioning The Lord on behalf of the people of India that there is no way God will be able to ignore this request. He will have to show up in a big, mighty, and powerful way that cannot be denied and every person in India will have to acknowledge the one true God. Will you join us in this petition?
