Today we will be heading out to Peru. Our team had 2 last big outreaches here in Conocoto, Ecuador. We performed the “Everything-
Lifehouse” skit on Saturday and Sunday, as well as singing Worship songs in
Spanish and English, and laying hands on people as we pray God blesses them. So
as we are about to depart, I wanted to share with you what I will miss…
–
My
Ecuador Mother Vanessa.
Although
we barely spoke words, we spoke love to each other.
–
The
bathroom.
We
had hot showers sometimes, or scolding hot, or freezing cold but it might be
one of the only times I have a hot shower
–
My dog
Pinky.
Yes
she has fleas, yes I watched her get hit by a car and live, yes no one else
likes her around really, but she always protected us.
–
Awkward
bus rides
There
was something about those sweet ladies that would wrap their arms around you to
fit on the bus that was awkward and comforting. I also noticed that the more I
tried to talk to people the more friendly the people seemed and less likely
they were to steal my stuff.
–
Karen
At times she would not leave
me alone, would hold on too tight, awkward front neck massages, and would
always try to put her hand in my armpits, but at the end of it all I love her.
I love her smile, her hugs, her funny growling, and her prayers. She has stolen
my heart and will always be a reflection of God’s love to me.
–
Pastor
and His family
They
were faithful in prayer with us every night. I will miss Myra and Milton (his
children our age) and being able to play worship songs with them while singing
in English and Spanish.
–
Church
Services and Prayer Meeting
Even
though I did not understand what was being taught really or what the song were
about I loved their faith. People would step forward week after week asked for
healing and more of the Holy Spirit. One man even brought his son’s clothes to
us to have us praying over them. His faith and the faith of many other people
here will forever remind me our God is big enough!
As we head off to Peru I am at peace knowing
God has used me and my team for miracles in this place. I am confident that God
will continue to move here as the new church is rising up. Now,
a new adventure begins with new people, new challenges, new ministry, but the
same Powerful, Almighty, Sovereign God.
