At the school I
have been serving at, there are in particular, three 10 year old boys who have
stolen my heart. I call them my 3 Amigos! Their names are Robin (white), Isaac (navy), and
Jairo (light blue).
The first day I met
them we played a game of tag and a game of “rescue me” where I loving saved
they from beating each other up. When leaving that day Jairo walked me to the
door holding my hand. As I bent down to hug him good bye he whispered something
in my ear. I looked to Pastor Juan for translation: “You are my protector,” he
said.
How I wish that was
true. I look forward to seeing these boys on the days they go to the school.
However, I know that soon I will no longer see them or ever be able to protect
them. I know God will and always has been there for these boys, it actually
reminded me of a story in the bible…
Daniel 3
Here is a quick sum up about Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. These boys were so dedicated to God they would not bow down to their
king Nebuchadnezzar. So their king
ordered them to be tied up and thrown into the furnace to be burned to death.
But….
Verse 25 “The king said, “Look! I see four men walking
around in the fire. They are not tied up, and they are not burned. The fourth
man looks like a son of the gods.”
God had protected all three of the boys and sent a son to be
with them. Just like my boys! God sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth to die
for them and rise from the grave. This way the Holy Spirit would always be with
them and you.
I know that God is
watching you and that whatever you face He will protect you. My only prayer is
for you to be able to look at the situation at hand and see God is GOOD.
