Ever since I started planning a year with the World Race, one of my best friend’s has been carefully planning a vacation to Rome for us. “It’s a super cheap package deal”, she promised. Knowing that I would be working very hard for a year straight, in less than my usual living conditions, it was clear that a pre-serve-cation would be necessary to reset.
I set aside the funds, spent $15k on expenses for the world race and moved a third of that to my world race account, and set out to fundraise another (the remaining) $10k, so everyone in my community would have the opportunity to participate in the world race, with my something greater campaign. …of all this budgeting and pre planning that I did, I certainly didn’t expect anyone to give to my Italy vacation savings that I had set aside.
But God is a God that exceeds expectations. He rewards those that don’t deserve it, and gives when we least expect it. I know this because God certainly used someone to show me how much He has in store for me beyond my expectations.
Last week, I was in my final preparations for vacation to the Vatican, via Roman girls trip when the least expected happened. An anonymous donor gifted $2,000 to be specifically used for my vacation. They gifted this to me with the message “you give and you give, but at some point, someone has to give to you… You deserve the vacation of your dreams”. My eyes filled with tears as I realized that God continues to surpass my biggest dreams and expectations every day, particularly now, in grand ways.
To my anonymous donor: you are being used in grand ways and it is my hope that your wildest dreams are also surpassed. Thank you for giving me such an amazing gift. Bless you! .jpeg&maxwidth=640)
