This is where God has me now. …words that came to mind when I started to ponder the future ahead. My brain wanted to know what “the plan” was. Really, so often we get hung up on what is in the future for us, that we forget where we are now.

What are the plans? What will it look like? How do I feel about it? STOP! We have the ability to choose our thoughts, all our thoughts. So before making that list of what my future career has in store, and how my unique background will so efficiently support such career in professional public speaking, I had to realize one thing; now. This one thing holds so much power. Now is the only thing that actually exists. The past is gone, and when the future actually comes, it is now.

Now… Now, I can pray, teach, play, serve and empower here in India! I can equip the pastoral leadership of Rise India Ministry to be better pastors, to continue to pursue God daily. This is where he has me now.

I can’t live my entire life in a “if (blank) then (blank)” mode. Because now is the future of my past. Sure, God is doing things now to strengthen me for the future, but once I get there, what’s the point if then I am still living in the “future mindset” of what HE is then preparing me for?

Surely each day will have trouble of it’s own- tomorrow is full of worry for itself- sufficient for today is it’s own worry… HIS word reminds me.

So I respond to today in a present mindset knowing that all the struggles of my past are for a purpose that is to be fulfilled today.
