Hello everyone!!

If you are reading this, you have probably figured out by now that I am going on the World Race in January 2013!!!  The World Race is a mission trip that consists of 11 countries in 11 months with 1 backpack of belongings.  I’m pretty sure after reading this that some of you just chuckled at the thought of me having only 1 bag for the year.  Don’t worry, I chuckle at this myself ….this girl loves her bags… 🙂

This past month for me has been extremely difficult and one that has challenged my faith more than ever before. During the final interviewing process of this trip, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I immediately wanted to back out of my trip, in fear of this new unknown we were now facing. God however quickly guided me back to the passion he placed in my heart for this trip.

I had to ask myself, why am I going on this trip? How important does this trip mean to me?  This trip has more meaning than just an amazing experience, it’s a passion. To be broken for others and to be broken myself is my heart’s desire. To the core of which God has molded me to be, my heart gets no greater joy than to help others in need. The process of being broken myself; has already begun.  I have a wonderful job that I’m very grateful for that I’ve been at for 5 years (shout out to Payscape Advisors). I was born and raised in Atlanta and I absolutely love my city (city girls rise up!). To be broken myself and to be broken for others, I must be willing to let this all go. It’s very difficult for me to let go of the security I have and to live out of a backpack and in a tent for 11 months (where am I going to get my hair dyed?? ;).  My desire to bless others is greater than my desire to have this security and comfort.

In order to go on this trip, I need to raise a min of $15,500.00 as well as buying the correct items to bring on my trip (cuz you know this city girl does not even own a tent, let alone a sleeping bag). I know, this number is just as daunting to you as it is to me.

I’m asking for you to partner with me, hire me as your hands and feet in each country. Each month we will be placed in a new country where we will simply serve the community. This will be anything from working at an orphanage, building schools, painting, the options are really endless. Part of the journey of the World Race trip is to not know what is in store for you in each country we go to. Whatever the need, we are there to help make it happen. I ask that you pray and ask God if you should partner with me in this. As a partner, I will be representing you to the people and communities I come in contact with. Let’s go!!
