Good Day Mate! Month 3 is coming to a close. This has definitely been a place where it feels like home. This month has gone by fast; it is hard to believe we are packing our backpacks headed to our next country. We have been blessed while staying at the Christian Outreach Center (COC) this month. We have met a lot of nice people, learned a lot of different tasks, and have reached out and loved so many people while staying here.

Here is a recap of the month.

We started the month by going to the Farm that the COC runs. I was in heaven. The farm housed cows, pigs, a horse, and even a kangaroo or two. That day we helped prepare and feed the animals. I had the privilege to go back to the farm later on in the month to help with some other chores.

Our everyday life here at the COC was spent helping the staff with the daily tasks, such as cleaning the visitors rooms, working in laundry, kitchen, and helping sort out rotten milk, bread, and vegetables for the animals food, and so much more. It was definitely rewarding to help all the staff and to get to know them.  I was in laundry most of the month helping out by washing, drying, and folding laundry. There I helped a  nice, loving, and caring lady from Papua Guinea, Ovea.

At night we helped the kitchen staff serve dinner to all the people staying here. We would help hanging out drinks and other side items, serving the hot meals, and then with clean up after supper. We helped a wonderful Indonesian couple, Pieter and Daisy.

A few nights we had worship with the Aboriginals and other residents at the COC. We sang, prayed, gave a message, and just fellowship with them. It was an awesome experience to see the people come out and want more. Every day they would ask if we were worshiping tonight. God’s light was definitely filling the COC.

One night we had movie night for all the residents, it was kind of like a meet n’ greet and a time to bring everyone together. We watch the movie “UP a very inspirational movie.

We had the privilege to meet Sandra and Esma, a mother and daughter who go to the church that we were ministering. Sandra does a home church reaching out to young people. We had supper at Sandra’s house to fellowship and to get to know everyone. The supper was amazing, she definitely spoiled us. The next Saturday we went with them to Litchfield National Park, were we hiked, saw waterfalls, swam, enjoyed a barbecue lunch and just fellowship together.

One Saturday morning we had the honor to help with Kids club which is managed my Jeff and Mandy. It was great to be able to hang out with young kids. We played games, ate food, had discussion, and even made a cell phone pouch and rockets. It was a morning of laughter and joy.  On night Saturday night we organized youth group. We hung out with the youth, told testimonies, encouraged them to be bold, and just listened to questions they had for us. It is amazing what teenagers will come up with once you get them to come out of their shell.

During some of our days off we hung out with a family that lived at the COC, we painted with the kids, went to downtown Darwin, the beach, and played on the playground.  I even learned a new game, torch (flashlight) tag. It was a great experience being able to ministry to those families.

This month was a great month, we met a lot of people, learned a lot from the ministry and were able to share God’s love all around. Until next time, Take Care.
