It’s been a while since I last wrote on my blog. This month we are in Coffee Bay, South Africa. We are helping start a surfing and soccer ministry here. This month God has put a lot of different things on my heart and mind.
I am sure most of you don’t know but I have been suffering with a rash on my body for four months. There have been a lot of trying times with this rash, it itches a lot and took over a lot of my body. When we arrived here in Coffee Bay, I could not take the rash any longer, it was just getting worst. I endedup ata clinic where they gave me some allergy medicine and sent me on my merry way. On the way home, I wanted to check the side effects of the medicine, mind you it is pouring down rain and the taxi drops us off about 10 minutes from where we are staying.
Entering this month God put on my heart to follow His calling to a divine appointment. So we saw two places that had internet, God spoke to me and said to open the gate at one of the houses, so I did and ran on the porch of the house. A lady answered the door with a Southern voice, it was so nice to hear. I used the internet to check the medicine and which then ended up in a conversation and tea with her, talking about our trip and about my doctor visit. Robin and her husband Charles have been here for 18months sharing Gods love; they are from Outerbanks, North Carolina. (Robin grew up in Swansea, South Carolina… small world) In the conversation, Robin recognizes some of my symptoms and informs me that I have Candida. Basically my body was having an allergic reaction to gluten and yeast and also had no good or bad bacteria left in my body. Basically, my body was screaming out for help. She told me to cut out all gluten intake and get on a probiotic. So I did…
“It is the Lord our God you must follow and Him you must revere. Keep His commands and obey Him; serve Him and hold fast to Him.�
Deuteronomy 13:4
I realize that this rash was a challenge from God, testing my obedience to Him. See,God put on my heart in Malaysia to fast for three days; I was never was obedient in that. After finding out what was wrong with me, God put fasting for three days on my heart and mind again. He told me that I needed to be in prayer about my rash, my growth, and being Baptized. This time I was obedient to God and started the fast for three days. The first day God told me that if I was obedient in the fast that the rash and allergy would be gone. So much good came out of fasting for three days, He gave me a lot visions about my growth in Him. Also during this fast we had a twenty four prayer, which He put on my heart to stay up for all twenty four hours in prayer with Him. At the end of the twenty four hours of prayer to be baptized in the renewal of my growth with Him, this would also be the way I would end my fast.
So with no doubt and being obedient in God word, I was baptized and the rash was gone. God is our number one healer; He taught me so much through fasting and being obedient in Him. The next day I tried yeast and food with gluten, I had no problems at all… God is so good, and will provide for our every need.
