The past few weeks have been an absolute roller coaster of emotions. From crying tears of joy after learning of my acceptance to this trip, to crying tears of pain, worry, and stress in the weeks following.
I still know that God has called me to go serve His people on this mission.
But it is so hard to have complete trust in Him when I doubt myself. How is this His plan for me? Why do I get the opportunity to do something this incredible? I keep asking Him so many questions.
God gave me the task of raising $12,491 in less than 4 months.
And even though I have faith that this money will come, it is still very difficult for me to write the rest of this blog.
Yesterday, I went to REI and purchased some of the supplies I’ll need to take on this journey (I repeat, SOME). These supplies included things like my 65L backpacking pack, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, a daypack, and a few other things. This came out to a total of almost $800. With a little help from my wonderful parents, I only paid about $650 of that total. Even then, this still broke my bank (my personal money earned from working) almost in HALF.
I’m telling all of you about this because I want to be 100% brutally honest. Starting with my support letter and throughout this entire journey.
I’m still shocked and in awe of the amount of people that have viewed my support letter and read about my story! Right now, it’s around 1,080 and I’m so glad that I have had the opportunity to open up to all of you!
With that said, I want to remind all of you that there is no amount of money that is too small or too large. If you don’t know me or even if you do, and you still feel hesitant about donating, I would absolutely LOVE to talk to you and get to know you!
As of right now, my total comes out to around $3,000. Considering I was accepted less than a month ago, that’s pretty awesome and I am SO incredibly thankful for the supporters that I already have!!
But my deadlines are coming up FAST.
The next fundraising deadline is $9,000 due by July 2nd. That’s 3 weeks from now.
I absolutely cannot do this alone.
