On August 10, 2016, I started my World Race journey and began fundraising nearly $17,000. My friends and I started a road trip to training camp but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to attend.
We spent the night with a friend in Georgia and I woke up the next day right at my first deadline! So I went to Walmart, bought a tent, and rolled into training camp. During those ten days, it was still sinking in that this adventure was actually happening.
When I got home from training camp, I had one month to prepare for the 11 month trip. I was doing everything I could think of to fundraise while so many of you came right along side to support me.
I was talking to my teammate Lyndsay on the phone one day and she told me about her prayer that morning, “Make it Rain.” So we continued to pray this prayer of financial provision through out the journey and so many times donations would come in during a rainstorm.
Jehovah Jireh has been making it rain time and time again.
The final anonymous donation to reach my deadline came in on August 7, 2017 while we were standing on the bow of a boat in the pouring rain.
And three days later, when my teammates and I went on the rooftop to sing and dance after we found out… Yep, it started raining.
So on my last day of ministry in Sri Lanka on the World Race, I can say that I’m fully funded!! The Lord is never late. I still can’t believe it. This process has been one of the most challenging and beautiful stories of his incredible faithfulness. Thank you for following this story. Thank you if you have supported me financially or through prayer. It’s been an amazing year and this celebration is ours to share. 🙂
