Community – “a large or small social group that share similarities.”
For ministry here in Thailand I am working at the Agape home. The Agape home is an orphanage/home/learning center for HIV/AIDS positive babies, children, and young adults.
Agape: Unconditional Love
While at ministry, the toddlers where running around playing, laughing, and filled with such joy.
That’s when God reminded me of what I had studied about community while studying criminal justice, victim counseling, and physiology. He reminded me about how important community is for victims, ex-prisoners, those that are entering or have entered sobriety, those that are beating depression. Community for these children just as any person battling a hardship is and will one day Be life saving.
Community for those at Agape will be the change between feeling alone to knowing they are not alone and the Lord has an army walking along side them. For those lives at Agape, community is their saving grace.
So many times I have looked at community as something I am walking through with the Lord.
I will no longer look at community as something I need to walk through but a blessing, I will look at community as a saving grace. It is not something I should look at as something I need to learn how to do but to see it as something to rest in.
The community I am living is filled with people who are journeying, partnering, growing, and walking in love with the Lord just as I am. Together we are bringing kingdom and by us living in community we are bring awareness to the true saving grace, our Savior Jesus Christ.
