A lot of people know what they want to do after high school, or at least have an idea of what their life will be like from a younger age. But in my case, it’s never been that way. Throughout high school, you usually take about a few survey/test things where you select what things you like and dislike and at the end of the survey it will tell you the top 10 jobs that you would enjoy after graduation. But every time I would take one of those tests, the results I would get back were never jobs that sounded enjoyable to me. So when senior year got here, I was kind of nervous about what I was going to do with my life. All my friends knew that they wanted to go to college, but I was just never drawn to that. My thought process was, “If I don’t know what I want to do, why would I waste the money and go to college, because what if what I want to do, doesn’t even require college?” For a couple months, I just felt unprepared but I was never worried about my future. One day, my dad mentioned the World Race to me. At first I was hesitant to it, but then I started researching it more and began to fall in love with the structure of the World Race. I loved the idea of getting out of your comfort zone and spreading God’s love. Also, I love the idea of “Love Does” which is a really awesome book that I recommend. The idea behind the book is that love doesn’t think, love does. The World Race is the perfect place for that. Going to the lowest of lows in each country and just loving by sharing the Gospel. So I decided to apply after praying about it and thinking why not. And guess what, this girl got accepted (obviously or else I wouldn’t be writing this) !!! On this World Race, I will be traveling to Honduras, Thailand, Ethiopia, Cambodia, AND Guatemala for 9 months!!! Even typing that out right now just makes me so excited!! Each day will be different during these 9 months, but everyday will be filled with serving and living for the Kingdom of God. Apart of going on this trip is raising around $15,000. If you feel it in your heart to donate, the link is the same as the link for my blogs: http://laurajoplin.theworldrace.org 🙂 Also, if you could keep me and my other world racers in your prayers that would be extremely appreciated! Thank you for reading my first blog, I’m not the best writer at all so I hope that it wasn’t too confusing! Laura Joplin
