A few months ago I got the idea to interview my squad members as a way to introduce those who are close to me to the people I will be serving with for a year, and I immediately got excited about the idea! So this is the start of a new little blog series where I’ll post about 3 interviews per blog post of each of my squad mates. I’ll also link their blogs so y’all can read more into their hearts. I hope each of you who read these can enjoy getting to know a little bit about the W Squad.

1. Where are you from and how old are you?

“I’m from Canyon, Texas, and I’m 21.”

2. When did you become a Christian?

“I became a Christian when I was 9 years old.”

3. What is one difficult thing you are proud to have overcome?

“I’m proud that I have overcome my fear of new people and places. I’ve always been anxious, but through following what God has laid on my heart, I have been able to meet so many new people and go on new adventures.”

4. Why did you join The World Race?

“I joined the World Race because I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and I knew I was called to mission work. This just happened to pop up on a Facebook ad.”

5. What are you passionate about?

“I’m passionate about many things. I love people and animals and standing up for them. I also love writing, making videos, and broadcasting stories that don’t get to be heard otherwise.”

6. What is your current life verse?

“What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear!” Matthew 10:27

7. What is one thing you want people to know about you?

“I think I want people to know that I love without abandon. I don’t care who you are or what you’ve done. I will stand up for you, love you, and cherish you. Also, I’m not mean, I’m just quiet. :)”

1. Where are you from and how old are you?

“I’m from St. Cloud, Minnesota. I’m 23 years old, but I’ll turn 24 just before we leave for the WR (July 28)!”

2. When did you become a Christian?

“I became a Christian my Sophomore year of college! College ministry is a wonderful thing!”

3. What is one difficult thing you are proud to have overcome?

“Oh, goodness…I actually had some problems with pride. God really broke that down! But I’d say that I’m proud of how far I’ve come with feelings of self-worth, along with anxious and negative thoughts.”

4. Why did you decide to join The World Race?

“My plan was to teach in another country, but as the saying goes, ‘If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.’ So I did…Now, I didn’t specifically hear these words, but I’m pretty sure He would’ve said something along the lines of, ‘Haha, nope. You’re going to serve others through missions.’ And that’s when I found The World Race.”

5. What are you passionate about?

“I’m passionate about Jesus (obviously), education, and making sure kids know they are loved and cared for.”

6. What is your current life verse?

“I’m a big fan of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, ‘Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.'”

7. What is one thing you want people to know about you?

“My students think I’m pretty cool.”

Until next time. xx
