Greetings from Launch!
It’s arrival day, and everyone who is leaving the country on January 9th will finish arriving tonight (with an exception of those who are stranded in airports because of the weather – hopefully they make it soon).
As all of the racers arrive to our launch site, I find that I keep thinking about all of the people we’ve left for this year. For each one of us that leaves, there’s at least a handful – or many more than that- who have been key supporters in helping us begin this journey.
If I’m honest, it has not been easy for me to say goodbye. In fact, it has been incredibly hard. For many of you, it probably seemed like I was completely fine when you and I said goodbye. Trust me when I say I wasn’t.
I miss all of you so much already that I’m struggling to write this post. I am leaving on a grand adventure, but I absolutely can’t do this without your continued support. While I’ll have varying degrees of access to the internet and I can’t really receive packages easily, please don’t feel like I’ve fallen off the face of the planet. I still would love to hear from you! Even if we haven’t talked in months, I would absolutely love receiving any or all of the following:
-
updates on your/your family’s life (even if it seems like nothing interesting happened lately)
-
links to funny YouTube videos
-
podcast suggestions
-
prayer requests
-
music recommendations
-
book (or article) recommendations
-
jokes
-
pictures
-
whatever else you think is appropriate (if you would like to give money to my support account, that’s wonderful too!).
In return, I promise to try to post blogs more often (maybe even with photos!), and try to respond more promptly to emails, so you all know what’s happening in my life.
I’ll definitely be experiencing a lot of change over the next year, but you probably will too! Please allow me the opportunity to grow and change with you by keeping in touch. It would be incredibly meaningful to me.
Until next time!
