The second day of ministry, we headed out on the road in our trusty TaTa open aired tuk tuk / one of a kind vehicle

We had already driven over an hour to our village for the day. As soon as the engine turned off we were ushered into the church and immediately brought hot chai (the best).
While drinking our tea, children from the village had begun filtering in to come see us at the church. And soon our host asked if we would be willing to continue driving for an additional 30 minutes, but with a dozen kids added to our vehicle.
Of course we agreed, excited for new adventure— and 28 minutes later we caught sight of the seashore and realized we were at the Indian Ocean.
At first, a little apprehensive to get in the water, but 10 minutes into splashing around with some of the younger girls only knee deep, Logan tackled me—fully submerging me into the water. He did the same with Mikyla a few minutes later.
While playing around in the water I mentioned baptism and Mikyla replied that she had never actually been baptized before.
I asked her if she would want to, and 10 minutes later I got the sweet opportunity to baptize her in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Earlier this year I began making a series of bucket list goals— some are travel goals, experiential goals, physical goals, financial goals, family goals, but I also have a list of influential goals. On that list is wanting to baptize sixteen people in my lifetime.
Mikyla is by no means just another person on my list of sixteen people I want to baptize, but someone I got to invite into declaring her faith publicly to her team and a few Indian friends— both new and dear. I’m thankful that sweet opportunities come up and the Lord is continually surprising me with the things He allows me to be apart of.
I know big things have already begun here in India— and believe only bigger things are to come.
