I plead guilty to speaking ‘always’ and ‘never’ over myself.
I’m always planning things.
I never finish the projects I start
The enemy has a way of putting these lies in our head, spoken by ourselves or by the community that surrounds us. We are not defined by mistakes we have made in the past. God calls us higher than to sit on what we have done wrong. God’s grace is constantly being poured over us, for we always fall short of the glory of God.
God continually shows us grace on a daily basis; we are called to replicate that unto others, but also on ourselves. Often the hardest person to grant forgiveness to is yourself. If the One who is set apart, holy and perfect, sees my sin as washed away—then who am I to hold onto something He has already forgiven?
Life is full of seasons, both big and small. Our childhood, the time spent at a given job, or a time fully committed to something. Seasons aren’t defined by anything, but we are always being challenged to enter new seasons. God has placed me in an environment where I know only some of what is to come. I know what countries lie ahead, but there is still so much that is unknown when it comes to what ministry will look like. New teams lie within the next week, but no matter who is chosen to surround me, God will use those people to speak into my life—to build me up as I do the same. The one thing I have heard continuously repeated to me by God is to give myself up daily. I am only one person; my physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional being can only bear so much! God wants to carry the weight of my worries, fears, struggles, and anxiety—but I have to be willing to acknowledge that me trying to control everything will never work!
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—“ Romans 3:23-25
I will forever rest in what God calls me. The darkness is overcome by light and lies are overcome by truth. I’m so undeserving of the way God views me, but by grace alone I am seen as perfect in his eyes.
