We had no idea coming into Malaysia that this would be our ministry, as all we knew is that we were working with YWAM. With YWAM, we partnered with St. Nicolas' Home for the Blind for the three weeks we were here. I started out the first week working with housekeeping, where I swept and mopped dormitories, cafeterias, laundry and storage rooms; cleaning windows, many, many windows; even cleaning chairs and dishes with my entire team. It became tedious at times but there was always variety, including a day assembling folders, a day bringing down Christmas and Chinese New Year's decorations, and a day organizing audio books on the computer for the school's use. By the second week, I was asked to come and work with 3 of my other teammates who were labeling and shelving Braille books in the school's library. Yes, this work was tedious and yes, I questioned what the purpose in all of it was. And on our very last day, we were blessed with a going away party, where they expressed their gratitude for our work and our librarian friend, Sukri, telling us how blessed he was with the work we had completed. God's been teaching to be faithful in the small things and this month it really has been the small things that have made this month memorable.
A short video made by my Luna teammate and leader, Rachel Rittman, about some of our ministry here in Malaysia these last few weeks.
