“I have taken care of her since her head was like this….”
With her hands, the elderly lady showed us the size of a newborn’s head. She was no longer able to care for her granddaughter – now a pre-teen – whose mother died when she was three months old and father abandoned her a short time later, never to see her again.

This beautiful child is now safe from the sex slave trade – and in the care of Remember Nhu.

“We have no way financial means of supporting the children under our care.”

These were the pastor’s words to one of our Housemothers. The pastor contacted us after the Lord opened another Children’s Home through Remember Nhu in an unnamed country.

“I want my space!”

These are the words a little girl heard frequently from her older sister, the only family she had left after both parents abandoned them. Because her sister didn’t like the responsibility of caring for her younger sister, she was often kicked out of the house and forced to sleep on city streets.

The Lord opened another Remember Nhu Children’s Home in the Philippines, and Remember Nhu has become the little sister’s new family.

His mom has nine children…

He is the youngest of nine siblings. His father and two of his older siblings have been killed by gunshot; his mother is unable to care for him.

Remember Nhu has opened a home for at risk boys in Thailand. Joy – their Housemother – cares for boys like this at our new Boys Home. www.remembernhu.org/11nov2011

"It’s estimated that 1.2 million children are trafficked into sexual slavery every year. Consider the numbers this way: something like 3,200 children are trafficked into sexual slavery every single day…Remember Nhu’s ultimate goal is to prevent the exploitation of children in the sex trade industry throughout the world. Four objectives keep us anchored to that vision…by meeting physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs."

Early Thursday morning we arrived at our ministry location in northern Thailand after a 9 hours of travel on an overnight bus. We spent the morning, with two of our contacts, Brian and Beth Woods (www.granolagospel.com), learning more of what we would be a part of in the coming weeks.  We will be joying the ministry, Remember Nhu, living, eating, working, playing and loving with 88 beautiful children.  We’ve only been here 4 days and already my life’s changed. Will you join with me in prayer, as we dive deep, deep into the love that has already overwhelmed me and each of these amazing women I am blessed to know and serve alongside?
