PVT (Parent Vision Trip) is a few days for parents/other very significant family members of Racers to come see them on the field, restock their instant coffee supplies, do a few days of ministry with them, and bring some of their heavier items home. (But, mostly the ministry/visiting thing.)
My parents weren’t able to come out so I am in Pitesti (at the ministry site I’ve been at all month) with some of my Squad while the PVTers are in Draganesti. We will join the rest of the squad/parents tomorrow for an afternoon of ministry together, some worship and dinner.
The next day is a free day for Racers and parents to hang out (I think the plan is for them to go to Bucharest). I’m looking forward to the off day. A day to relax, recharge, and reflect before we move on.
It’s awkward being here since the PVTers left. Half of my team and half of the team we were working with left a few days ago and a few members of other teams came here. I assumed life would continue like it had for the past 3 weeks- but with different people comes a different atmosphere. The 4 that came here have no ties to this community and this ministry, and while they have done an excellent job of jumping in (and everything has gone very smoothly) it, obviously, isn’t the same.
Before my teammates left, we prayed for the PVT parents, the Racers, and the non-PVT Racers. I used Bananagrams to help me focus during that prayer time and I got a few words that I have been praying over everyone.
I recently realized we forgot a whole group of people to intercede for: the non-PVT parents. Those people who, for one reason or another, weren’t able to (or chose not to) come out.
My prayer over PVT has always been that people will be exactly where God wants them to be, that everything would work out according to His plan. I believe that happened and I’m grateful for the last few days. I have been able to gain some perspective, pour into my Romanian ministry, and reconnect with my girls- just what I needed at the end of a rather emotional month.
God is good!
