Part of the fun of Training Camp is team formations!! After the fitness test, I think it’s the part of TC that can cause the most uneasiness. Personally, I disliked the idea of being put on a team because I want to get to know and work with EVERYONE… But as a wise lady told me, teams aren’t meant to separate the squad, but to spread us out in the countries we are going to. That shift in perspective made the whole situation so much easier for me.
That wise lady ended up being my team leader! Our squad name “Anchor Depths” was derived from a vision she was given: an anchor, swaying in the ocean, seeking out the ocean bottom. As a team, we decided that is something that would define us- we would constantly be searching out the deepest depths of God.
Without further ado, my team!
From left to right (click on their names to reach their blog):
- Emily. Our team treasurer. She has such a sweet heart and joy and I am excited to get to know her better!
- Me. 🙂 I was asked to be our team’s worship facilitator. I actually have no idea what that means…
- Kara. She has been instrumental in our squad’s prep for TC- she knows everything! She has such a heart for people and love for God, I’m thrilled to be able to minister alongside her.
- Rebekah. Our team leader! She has such wisdom, and will lead our team admirably.
- Elise. She has a passion for youth ministry and I’m excited to learn from her!
- Mariah. Mariah is everything I want to be. She genuinely cares about people and does her best to make them feel like they are noticed and known. I will learn much from her.
We had fun “making a memory” and getting to know each other one afternoon during TC- obviously Starbucks was involved!
I can’t wait to live and work alongside these beautiful ladies for 11 months!!
Cambodia, here we come!
