I love these kids. I really do love them.
I want the best for them every single day. I want to see them succeed.
I get excited when they receive a certificate at school. Or shoot a 3 pointer in basketball.
I have righteous anger for what they have gone through in their past. And it’s hard to love the people who have brought so much brokenness to these precious kids. But their is redemption. There is redemption in Christ.
These kids are here in this place because of the sponsors they have been blessed with. These kids pray for their sponsors everyday. The older girls have sticky notes on the wooden sideboard of their bed listing off everything that is happening, what they need to do and who they need to pray for including their sponsors. My kids are able to live in a safe place because there’s sponsors you love them. They get an education so that they can have bright futures, are fed 3 times a day, and have a safe place to live because people choose to sponsor them and love from afar. It blesses these kids that people out there are helping them to live in a safe environment. It means they get to stay in their homes and continue to learn at their schools. They are safe.
Sponsoring a child from Arms of Love is showing these kids that people love them. They matter. They are worth it.
These kids have stolen a piece of my heart with the love that they so easily display and show to those around them. Their beautiful smiles and priceless laughs. Their ability to forgive those who have wronged them. Their desire to learn and their willing hearts to know Christ. They love to listen to worship songs and dance and sing along with the frozen sound track wherever we are whether that’s at dinner, in the jeepney or in the yard.
They call me ate(ah-tey) which means “big sister” and it melts my heart everytime I hear it.
