Have you ever heard of a 'Honey Do ' list? Well simply put, it's a list of things (usually chores) that you ask someone you love to do for you. For example, a wife might say to her husband, "honey, will you fix the washing machine" or a dad might say to his daughter, " honey, I need you to walk the dog when you get home, bring in the mail, and find the phone number for the mechanic to fix the washing machine, but don't tell your mom!"
In the same sense, I have a 'Honey Do' list from God, but my list comes in the voice of the Holy Spirit. God has been asking me if I will do the things He asks of me. I hear God saying:
-"Laura, Honey, you say that you love Me and trust Me, but are you willing to turn your words into actions?"
-"Laura, Sweetheart, are you willing to surrender ALL of yourself to Me, not just half of yourself?"
-"Laura, My Precious One, you say your willing to go where I lead you, will you follow Me now? Will you follow me to far off lands, dangerous cities, third world countries, and completely out of your comfort zone?"
-"Laura, My Daughter, it won't be easy, but I will be with you every step of the way…will you take My hand and put your faith in Me? I will never leave you."
-"Laura, My Child, are you ready to embrace wholeheartedly this gift I'm giving to you? Are you ready for Me to Rock Your World?!!"
I find myself saying to every question I hear from God, "YES, YES, I'M READY, USE ME!!!" I know I have much to prepare for in the coming months before I start my trip in September, but I also know that no amount of preparation will be enough for this incredible journey that I am about to begin. I want God to use me and shake me to my core! I want God to show me a different side of the world, very different from my cozy, sheltered life in Georgia. I want to be challenged in every sense of the word, mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I want to show LOVE and COMPASSION to every person I come in contact with. I want to follow when God calls me by my name!
I have a feeling I will be getting much more than I asked for, but I know that God will be with me every step of the way, and hopefully you will be too!
