Hello! My name is Laura Ludwick and I’m from Clarence Center, NY. I am sending you this letter with the hope that you will decide to participate with me in a life changing opportunity that came my way after a recent tragedy. When Continental Flight 3407 crashed two blocks away from my house, it killed my childhood best friend. We had over 20 years of memories, laughter, tears, love and growth. Her life inspired me to live every day to the fullest, and to make each moment count. And this is what I want to do.
The Lord has allowed me to do this by reaching out to others. Ministering to those who are going through pain and sorrow; supplying food to the hungry, clothing the naked and supplying water to those who are thirsty. I want to be the hand that rescues a child from the cold, dark streets which are steeped in prostitution and the sex trade. The arms that hold a crying baby in an orphanage and rock him to sleep. That’s when I decided to join The World Race, a part of Adventures In Missions, a non-profit organization that travels to countries all over the world reaching out to those in need.
I, along with a team of 65 others, will be traveling to 11 different countries in 11 months spreading words of life, love, hope and a future that only God can give. My team and I will be going into hundreds of communities and towns to work in schools, AIDS hospitals, clinics, construction sites, homeless shelters, feeding programs, disaster relief, making concrete water filters, preaching, working to end human trafficking and the sex trade and much more! We will start off in HAITI and then head to DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, CAMBODIA, TURKEY, ROMANIA, THAILAND, CHINA, PHILIPPINES, MOZAMBIQUE, MALAWI and SOUTHERN AFRICA. My dream is to take the tragedy of the plane crash and turn the pain into hope, the sorrow into joy. My dream is to see the world change for the better and I’m blessed to be one who is able to go. But I can’t make these dreams possible without you. Although I will be living out of a backpack and tent for the entire year I will still need to raise the funds to cover all of the flights, transportation, and food. I need to raise $15,000 to be able to go on this mission trip. At first glance, this seems like a lot of money, but God is a God who makes the impossible possible! My goal is to find 150 people, families, churches, and organizations to give $100 each. Will you please consider joining me in this journey by supporting me with a donation of $100?
The cost includes all air fare and transportation, food, supplies and vaccines. I have to raise the full amount by May 25. Our team leaves for Haiti on July 1.
