Ministry in Ireland 9.2010
I love Europe! It’s my first time to Western Europe area and I’ve loved it all. Though sleeping in my tents for weeks in storms and high winds did stretch me. I’ve moved 4 times while in one country! I say that makes me a true backpacker! We went from the campsite in Dublin, to the campsite in Salthill, to above the coffee shop (An tober nua, Galway City) and then we went to church members homes as they hosted us for our last week (I stay in Athenry). Needless to say I’ve gotten good at packing… though my stuff keeps growing and it’s time to get rid of some stuff!
I enjoy being in a country that is like home in many ways. People speak English, have a lot of the same foods, familiar restaurants, etc. (No wonder I’ve gained weight! After rice and beans and ugali it’s heaven!) The ministry here has been incredible! I’ve loved working at the An tober nua Christian coffee shop and bookstore. Meeting new friends Sean, Megan, Orla, Stacey Tan, Tommy, Adam, Laurel, Susan, Sarah, Amanda, Adam, Jimmy and Maylen, and many more. The people here are kind and generous and truly show what a Christian is called to do.
In addition to working in the coffee shop and bookstore we have been keeping very busy! We’ve gone door to door delivering over 9,000 free Christian music cds, helped with a worship conference, removed graffiti and done various community service projects, street evangelism, and assisting church members with projects in their homes.
It’s been an amazing month of watching God move! Now I am off to Romania to have a short debrief and then off to a new ministry sight! I can’t wait to see where God places me next! Thank you for all of your love and support in my journey!
