I have quite a few stories of how God is guiding this trip already and is providing for it. Here are two Love Encounters that I’d like to share with you.
The Faith Bowl
Over the summer my family and I started fundraising by having 2 garage sales to raise funds for the race. My mom was having trouble trusting that God would bring in all of the needed funds and was still in prayer about how she felt about me going on the trip. She’s knew that hundreds would be blessed if I went but didn’t have faith yet that God would bring in the funds. I was in the process that day of starting the 1-5-0 fundraiser and was explaining it to her. It’s an ongoing fundraiser I will do until the day I leave on the trip. Finding 150 business, families, organizations,etc that would give $100 towards changing the world. At the 2nd garage sale a woman came up to her asking about the antiques that were for sale. Mom knew she had what the woman wanted but it wasn’t for sale and was up in the attic, the woman said she’d pay $100 for it. Mom prayed and cried about wheather to give up this family heirloom, hours later she looked at me, hugged me and said,” A bowl can’t change the world, it’s not going to help feed orphans, build homes, dig wells, etc. But you will do those things. And selling this bowl will be one of your 1-5-0 supporters.” I gave her a big hug, and teared up as she was willing to give up her heirloom so that millions could be touched and blessed by God. Lindsey
I recently came back from visiting my best friend Katie who lives in Cincinatti, OH. I drove over to spend the weekend with her and a large singles group from her church- Crossroads. I got the joy of meeting Lindsey a woman following God’s leading in her life. She was going to go on the World Race also but felt God leading her on elsewhere. She had already purchesed items for the race and guess what… she GAVE THEM TO ME. What a huge blessing and load off my shoulders. She blessed me with a beautiful, brand new tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and mess kits. I’ll put up photos of them soon!
