Hello from Haiti! Yesterday, today and tomorrow Kendra, Leah and I have been working with other missionaries running medical mission clinics around Port a Prince, Haiti. It’s been amazing and I’ve really loved it! Leah and I have been checking people in then taking the kids temps and the adults blood pressure and pulse. It’s set up just like Good Neighbors Clinic back home so I feel right at home!
Other than that we have been sleeping on a balcony as it’s the coolest place to sleep and we all have bug bites! I have a ton on my legs! The team is doing well, we are learning how we all fit together and learning how to have our feedback time be more effective. Please keep us in prayer as God is teaching us a lot!
The people here continue to teach me a lot and I’m figuring out ways to help them and minister to them. Their joy is incredible but there is so much to be done and you can see it on the faces of those all around the tent cities we work in. They are worn down, searching for food and aid and are fearful to go back into their old homes as they know that the bodies of their missing loved ones could be lying underneath the rubble. They are scared of the unknown and the chance that another earthquake could come at any time. They are very few jobs and trash piles on the streets, there is no trash company that picks it up and the sewers are full of filth. Please keep these people in your prayers!
Thank you for all of your love and support! Keep reading!
Xoxo, Laura
