I’m safe in Haiti!! We had a great 5 days of  Launch training in the D.R., we had classes, team bonding, ATL, and relaxation (yes, a day off before we start 24/7 ministry.) at the beach.  On Friday we traveled from D.R. to Haiti- 6 hours plus an hour fixing wheels and potty breaks. There are 4 teams (roughly 31 people) doing Haiti ministry this month, then the rest of the squad will come to Haiti next month and we will go back to the DR for ministry.  We cramped into a bus that holds 25, opened the windows and welcomed the music from our ipods. Our squad mate Jonathan Moore sang  and played me a song on the guitar which I loved and recorded on my ipod- the man should win singing contests in my opinion, it’s amazing, I listened to it ten times during the drive. We did have a little trouble getting over the border, we were late and it should’ve been closed but God is amazing and after some extra money we all got safetly across. Our AIM contact Aaron was incredible! We then stayed at the Haitian Christian mission for the night, buildings down here have flat roofs and we slept up there under the beautiful, bright stars (think the country but way more stars) I slept great and when we awoke we all noticed that there is water to one side of the building and mountains on the other! Amazing!  Everyone’s health is very good and only one thing has gotten stolen- all the packs and luggage made it safetly to each destination and Praise God, here we go again!! Oh, and Mom, I’m SO proud of you for figuring out who my teammates are and finding their blogs- they are already talking about Momma Vicki! For everyone else my teamates are, Jake Van Norman, Leah Mohing, Rachel McGuire, Robby Smith, Stacey Compton and Kendra Floyd. They each have their own blogs so please check out our videos, pictures and updates! We are  headed to Jean Claude’s for the next few weeks, around the corner from the AIM base in Haiti.
Xoxo, Laura
