God Always Shows Up

Yesterday was our first day off. We were taking time off from our ministry to relax, and to get refreshed to begin again on Sunday. Although we were taking time off from God’s work officially, God never stops working. Let me tell you about our day.
Mark, Becky, Caroline, Andi and I went downtown Chincha and walked around, what we thought was somewhat randomly and we found this little market lane way. Everything was closed for siesta so we just sat down at a table and were talking. Soon, a man named Luis came out, randomly, because he is a Peruvian English teacher and wanted to speak some American English with native speakers. We ended up spending the day with him. To begin with we sang karaokee with him for an hour in his office. We sang Dancing Queen, Sweet Caroline, and lots of other songs. The best part was when Luis performed Thriller by Michael Jackson for us. Then he took us around town to the market, laundromat, post office etc. Before we left him we took him for some pizza. This is where it comes out that he is the leader of the Christian party in Chincha, and he knows someone in congress, who knows the president. This is an amazing contact for our work to try and figure out where the money for earthquake relief has gone. God is always with us, and has given us such awesome opportunities to do His work. It was shocking, and awesome.
Today we went white water rafting on class 3 plus/4 rapids. It was so much fun and absolutely gorgeous. God sure knew what He was doing when He created rivers flowing down mountains. I was in such awe of Him as I was going down the river. I give God all the credit for the beauty I saw today. It was so so so gorgeous.

This is our friend Luis playing his guitar for us.
