Thursday was the most awesome day off ever. We woke up to the surprise of our boat that we were living on in Nauta actually driving down the river to the headwaters of the Amazon. I didn´t believe it was true at first, but when my sleepy brain finally realized that WE ARE MOVING! I jumped out of bed and went to join the party at the front of the boat.
We climbed to the top of the lookout tower at this natural wonder of the world. This is my team at the top. There were lots of stairs, but it was so awesome up there. On one of the decks I was able to purchase a snakeskin bracelet.
After climbing the tower we explored the little village for a while. We walked down the road and saw the churches, clinic and municipal building. There was a guy who had an Anaconda there and I was able to have a picture with me touching it.
After we got back to the boat, before we headed back to Nauta we all took turns jumping off of the second story of the boat into the Amazon river. This is Angie and I jumping. It was a lot of fun, and the river was really refreshing.
After we started our trek back a bunch of us hung out on the front of the boat. It was such a wonderful surprise and really relaxing and refreshing!
