If you've read my last blog, you are well aware of the sickness I have been battling. Well, I wrote that blog on Sunday afternoon. Right before going to church, I skyped with a good friend from back home (Alli W) and was telling her about what I had been going through the past couple days. In Alli fashion, she didn’t hesitate to offer to pray for healing over me and I quickly obliged. I felt a bit rushed since I was given a 10 minute warning from Ed right as we were about to pray.
Alli has been a good friend of mine for almost a year now, but what a year it has been! She is such an amazing sister of God and I knew that this time of prayer was not going to be a waste. When Alli prays for healing, she knows what she's doing; she knows who she is talking to and she knows the power she has.
But this is not about Alli. God used her in a remarkable way to pray healing into my life. As I got off Skype to head to church, I stopped at the bathroom, which I was becoming all to familiar with. But this time, I couldn’t go! Woo! So I headed off to church and continued to declare myself healed. It was only God's doing that I was able to sit through church and the entire night without having to run to the bathroom. I went from having little appetite and running to the bathroom every fifteen minutes to going hours without having to run to the bathroom. I still had very little appetite and still had stomach issues, but I was able to enjoy the last night with our host bathroom-free.
Not only did God sustain me for the night, but I was able to make it all the way to Antigua (a bumpy, windy four hour trip) without having to go! The stomach ache still persisted, but hey, I was happy I could sit in a vehicle for that long. No matter how often I thought I had to go, I would get to the bathroom and no longer have to. This lasted all day Monday! I was diarrhea-free!
Tuesday, it came back, but no where near as intense or frequent. And the stomach aches subsided. I had an appetite again and I had my energy back!
God cares about the small stuff, even the messy stuff you typically wouldn't want to talk about (Welcome to the World Race: Poop is a common topic of conversation). I thank God that He controlled the symptoms that I could enjoy the last night of ministry, that I could make it to Antigua, and that I didn’t have to deal with all of the symptoms at once. GOD IS IN CONTROL. He created every cell within me and has power over each one. How cool is that?!
