Dear: Brothers and Sisters in Christ
I am so excited to have this opportunity to share with all of you what the Lord has been doing in my life. I am a recent graduate from Florida State University, where I majored in Criminology and International affairs but to be honest I cannot say that I played any part of my biggest life change during my time in college. What I could attest to is how God took ahold of me and completely transformed my life when I least expected it. Since then I have been on the most amazing adventure of my life with my Creator.
Through this journey, I have had the opportunity to serve in church planting with Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL, work as a counselor at WinShape Camps for girls, and at Youth with a Mission in Kenya. Through my experience with all of these ministries, I have seen the desperate need of the world for HOPE in JESUS. Through one of these ministries I heard someone share their experience on the World Race. After hearing about this journey the LORD captivated my heart into partnering with the world race and for the past two years I have been intentionally praying that God would open doors and lead me in this Journey with Adventures in Missions. Through God’s grace, He has opened up an opportunity for me to do so! God has called me to take a leap of faith this September and embark on this journey with Him to share the GOSPEL and a message of HOPE that has radically changed my life and pointed to the desperate need I have of Christ every day. It would be incredible share this with others around the world so they too can be set free.
The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries. My squad and I will have opportunity to impact communities in Moldova, Romania, Kosovo, Albania, South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador. The awesome thing about the World Race is that it is also an intensive discipleship program designed tolaunch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s Love to many Tribes and nations.
I know that there will be many challenges that I will face throughout the World Race, but to be honest one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded I need to raise 16, 267 dollars. This money will cover all of my field expense for the 11 months of the trip. I know that financially funding a mission trip can be a huge commitment, so I ask that you prayerfully consider taking this leap of faith with me, and partnering with me financially and in prayer so that together we can share the Gospel throughout the nations!
Enclosed is a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to take this leap of Faith with me. The response card will provide Adventures in Missions with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. If you decide to partner with me financially, please make checks payable to “Adventures in Missions” and please write “Laura Galvez” in the memo line of the check to ensure it is credited toward my support.
If you would prefer to make your donation online, you may do so by visiting my blog site at: www.lauragalvez.theworldrace.org. Just click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side. I will be using this blog to keep you updated on what together we are doing for His Kingdom and I hope that you will follow me as we embark on this journey.
I appreciate your time in prayer and your willingness to follow in whatever the Lord leads you to do! I am super excited for this journey and will love to share more with you personally and answer any questions you may have. May God bless you through this this time!
Yours in Christ
Laura Galvez
