This month has been amazing, and I just want to let you in on one of the things that I enjoyed the most. The revival that we have had to preach at all month has been so cool… the church that we meet in is roofless, so the stars are always seen after the sun goes down and a single light bulb is turned on in the front so that some can still see the preacher. We have been lucky enough to see the roof almost done before we leave this country, but the other night when it was my turn to preach we met on a cement slab next to the church because it was being worked on. The slab was on a hill (of course) and completely opened to the sky.

When I was called to the front (by my Rwandese name, Mahoro, which means peace) I was astounded by how many people were actually sitting before me, waiting for a word from this “missionary” to deliver the word of the Lord. I faced them, took a breath and decided to start with a prayer. I stared up into the sky and asked the Lord to open hearts to receive.

I gave a message on hearing the voice of God. If I have learned nothing else it has been that I know that God speaks to everyone… that doesn’t look the same for everyone, but to know that He does has been changing my world… ok, so back to the preaching… I just wanted say that I absolutely enjoyed just talking about God to these people. I was so distracted by the sky though and knowing that MY God put them there… for my feedback that night, I sat outside with my team, listened to “How He Loves,” and read Genesis 1, just to remember the Creator and His perfect love. Yeah… I loved that night…

So… this month we decided, has been a month of abundance, not just good. For example, got to go to a graduation… good. Got to go to an African wedding… abundance. Got to go to an African church service… good. Got to dance with 40 African kids and get a hug from each of them in the end… abundance. Hung out with my team… good. Was supported through everything that happened this month… abundance. Preached… good. While under the stars, on a Rwandan hill by light bulb… abundance.
