So travel to the Philippines has not been as bad as I anticipated, The plane ride was forever long, but we are finally here, and I still cannot wrap my head around that we are actually across the world. Driving through Manilla to get to the missions house where we are staying reminded me of driving through southern Mexico. There were junk yards and random shops and lots of people and dogs.

As we were driving a delivery truck pulled next to our bus and there was a man in the front seat with his feet resting on the dash. As I looked more closely, I could read that written between his feet were the words “Feet Off Please.” I can’t say that I got some huge revelation from it, I just thought it was funny.

After arriving at the missions house, we were warmly welcomed and given a great lunch of rice, noodles, chicken, and lemon bars. After lunch, we changed into something to swim in and hopped on the bus. We drove and drove up through the winding mountains and finally arrived at a beautiful waterfall park. After about a one and a half minute hike, we came upon a beautiful waterfall. We swam for a while and the crisp water was just what my jet-lagged body needed.

We went back and after a shower and a little journaling, I had never been more excited to sleep. It is still strange to me that I am actually here now, but I know that this is where God has me and I am eager to find out what’s in store for these next few days!
