We got the opportunity to travel to Leon, Nicaragua and hike up an active volcano.

Did you read that? AN ACTIVE VOLCANO THAT COULD ERRUPT AT ANY TIME.

At the top, each person had this homemade-looking sled on which we rode down a 45 degree slope on top of black, volcanic ash.

THIS IS REAL LIFE.

Half way through all 55 of us going down, there was an epic rainstorm that formed right over our heads. So, get the picture clearly in your head. 20-ish people on top of a black rock filled with volcanic ash and, you know, MAGMA on the inside, wearing orange jumpsuits that look like we just broke out of jail getting pelted with volcanic rock rain. There was a moment when I could barely see because the rain was coming down so strong!

It was in this moment when all my clothes are soaked and I’m stranded on the top of a volcano with rain and wind whipping all around, that I realized how EPIC of a moment this was. I will never forget that rainstorm. I will never forget the people with me. I will never forget sledding down a slippery volcano to the bottom (that you couldn’t even see from the top, btw).

That is what life is about, people. Seeing the beauty in all places under all circumstances.

God is definitely an artist, and I saw his workmanship that day.

Enjoy this pictures of that unforgettable adventure.
