“Sunrise to sunset, help me not forget all that you’ve done for me. Sunset to sunrise, help me keep my eyes upon your glory.”
I couldn’t get this Paul Wright song out of my head all month. It sort of became my theme song this last month.
I’ve always thought one of the most beautiful things we can witness as human beings is the sky and the things that God places in it. Those who know me well (and possibly those who don’t even know me that well) know that I am slightly obsessed with clouds. I. love. clouds! But I also love stars and rainbows and sunrises and sunsets.
Last month in Tanzania, I found a love for the African sky. I really have never seen skies as beautiful as the ones I’ve seen on this continent. And so, when I saw where we were living this month – where we could watch the sun rise over Lake Malawi and set behind the hills – I created a project for myself. I decided (with the help of my teammates and the passporters we lived with) I would document in pictures every single sunrise and sunset for the entire month – even if it meant waking up at 5:30 every morning (which, after the first day, turned into me unzipping my tent, sticking my camera out, taking a picture, zipping my tent back up, and lying back down). But I am so glad I did it, because the beauty every single time was overwhelming and breathtaking!
And so, I want to share the beauty with you:

(This is what the sky looked like after the storm that blew over tents and flooded them. Craziest storm I’ve ever been in – without real legitimate shelter, at least!)

It’s not my camera or photoshop, it’s 100% God’s creativity. He really is the most amazing artist. It blows my mind!
