We've been doing house to house evangelism everyday and it has been phenomenal to see how God is working in this village, Kimnyaki.

Every house that I've visited so far, all the adults have prayed to receive Christ, some of whom have never heard His name before (yes, there are actually people who have never heard of Jesus). I think I've witnessed about 16 people come to know Jesus so far (and this is after only 2 days of visiting homes). It has been incredible to be a part of it and to share with people the love of Jesus and the things he's done in my life.

The house we most recently visited was a walk through beautiful cornfields with mountains looming in the background.

We came to the home of three generations of women and many, many children. The oldest of the women, Senayu, greeted us with incredible enthusiam! A never-ending stream of "karibu's" (which means "welcome" in Swahili) coming from her lips, only pausing to kiss our hands numerous times. As we sat to share the testimony of Jesus, Senayu offered me her chair and then proceeded to sit on the ground, despite being at least four times my age. She held my hand as Shelli told the story of the Bible (an abridged version, of course) and as Kirby talked about the fruit that she's seen produced in her life as a result of the love of Jesus. Our host and translator, Daniel, spoke with them for a while in Swahili and then told us that they were ready to pray to receive Christ. Each of the women kneeled and raised their hands as Daniel placed his hands on their heads and asked them to repeat the prayer after him. Senayu, who was sitting next to me, kneeled and instead she put her arms across my legs and her head to my knees. As she repeated the prayer after Daniel, I laid hands on her and prayed that the Lord would bless her and show his great love for her in an undeniable way. I prayed that she would take this gift of Jesus and run with it, continuing to grow without ceasing. I prayed that she would be an example to those around her that the gift of Jesus has no age limit – that any life, no matter how much life is left to be lived on earth, is created to receive the love of Jesus and to glorify the sovereign Lord.
