Today I am feeling so blessed! Blessed with such a strong, amazing community of girls that I have only gotten to know the last few months through group messages, texts and snap chats, but already love. Although each of us are different in our own ways, I have been amazed at how much we actually have in common and how clear it is to see that God chose each of us to be together on this journey. Each of us are a piece that make up a perfect, God designed puzzle and community.
To be honest when I first began to apply for the World Race, there was all of this talk about community. Do I have it? What do I think about it? How do I think community should look, be like? I didn’t get it. I thought well I live in Sylvan Park area of Nashville-it’s a nice community! You can walk to a few restaurants, its close to everything…no joke.
However, today I can honestly say that through these last few months getting to know my squad mates, I now know what community is. I know why its important, and just how important it is! Day in and day out we share our struggles with each other only to get drowned in support, love and understanding. We share our fears, excitement, failures and triumphs and in return we are there to back each other up, sympathize, council, and build one another up.
Community is one of the many amazing gifts (and resources) that God has given us! Each of us individually can love Him, trust him, and preach His word, but together that love and trust multiplies within us! The right community is designed to keep you close to God-full of his love and amazing grace!
I was shown and reminded of the Lord’s overpowering grace and love just this morning when I shared with my sqad something that recently happened in my life that has caused me a lot of shame and embarrassment. I felt God telling me to just open up to them and to let them love me, and that they did!
I am so very blessed that God has brought each and everyone of you squad members and friends into my life! I know I am going into this next crazy year with everything I could ever need-y’all and our heavenly father!
LOVE YOU E SQUAD!!
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! Psalm 133:1
