Hello friends!  First of all, I hope you had an amazing Christmas filled with lots of joy and fun! Even though we are far from home, we definitely felt the love and support of our families at home and had a beautiful day together!  Thank you!

On another note, I want to apologize for a blog long overdue.  This month has definitely not gone how I expected it to.  But that’s good, right?  I shouldn’t have expectations anyway, right?  Right.  I wasn’t even really aware that I had expectations until every one of them fell through this month, except for one… that God would draw me closer to Him no matter what.  More on that later, but for now I need to play a little “catch up” and let you in on what’s happened this month.

In my last blog I expressed my excitement about “following my nose”.  Although there is much truth in that and I will continue to allow God to lead me on the race, I didn’t do much following my nose this month because…well…my nose didn’t leave my bed.

That’s right…I was super, duper sick for about half of the month.  Pretty much the day after I wrote that blog, I got sick with some sort of stomach bug that left me in bed for 12 days straight.  I was given medicine by the doctor, which in the end worked, but made me feel much worse before I felt better.

I’ll pause the story right there and let you all know the good news…I’m finally better and feeling back to normal thanks to Jesus and lots of prayers!

It’s been difficult getting myself to write about the last few weeks because there is so much to tell.  I’ve learned so much about myself, my weaknesses, God’s strength, and leaning on others and I want to share all that with you in upcoming blogs but for now, here are details on Team Teleios’ Unsung Heroes ministry…

We have moved from Georgetown to Malacca.  Georgetown was wonderful in that God connected us with ministries that I know God will use down the road.  One of them that I was able to meet with before I got sick was with a Children’s Home run by a Pastor and his wife.  We had met him very randomly in town one day and it was obvious the Lord had connected us.  The Pastor and his wife had very clear vision and beautiful hearts to care for children that have come from all sorts of broken homes.  We were able to meet the kids and see just how loved and valued they are. We told them about the World Race and what it would look like if Adventures in Missions partnered with them in ministry by bringing future World Race teams in to help care for the kids, do community outreach, and other parts of ministry.  I left our meeting not only excited for the future of this ministry but deeply encouraged by the heart of this pastor and his wife.

There are many more stories of awesome encounters and opportunities my team has had but you will have to read their blogs to find out more.  J

After a few weeks in Georgetown we moved to Malacca, where we are currently.  We are busy meeting with potential contacts and just in the 2 days we have been here there has been much fruit!

We will be leaving here on the 30th to travel back to Kuala Lumpur for the last few days of Unsung Heroes month.  Then, we will have a mini debrief with the squad and we will travel to Japan on January 6th!

I can hardly believe it’s the end of month 4 already!  I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and support from the beginning! I am very grateful and humbled by your kind words, friendship, beautiful prayers, and financial support! I could not have done this had God not used you to pour into the Kingdom by funding this adventure! Thank you!
