I never thought I'd fall in love on the World Race, but it happened.  Zach, a squad mate, just turned 24 and we decided to throw a party for him at the beach at sunset.  Three of the other teams who are staying in Darwin also joined us, so we had a total of 5 teams partying at the beach celebrating Zach.

It was the best night on the race for me so far.  God’s glory was all around us.  The beauty of the sunset over the ocean.  The sound of the ocean waves.  The majesty of the starry night sky.  The view of constellations I’ve never before witnessed in my life.  The smell of bonfire.  The taste of roasted marshmallows. The conversations with dozens of squad mates who are now family.  The wobble dancing with friends.  The feel of soft sand between my toes.  The singing of praises to God.  The words of life spoken into Zach as his birthday present.

At the end of the night I realized I had just been on the best date I’d ever been on in my life with God!  My beloved romanticized me all night!  He held my hand as I walked along the beach.  He joyfully surprised me by showing me bioluminescence, tiny microorganisms which light up bright blue in the water or in the sand when you step on them or near them.  He delighted in my excitement and amazement of the beautiful creation He made for me.

My God loves me so!  I am so blessed to be the bride of the King.  I’ve never been so romanced in my life.  I am so in love!
