After Death. Post Pentecost.

Oh love that is unfailing
find me here—
in the quietest of nights—

Let me sit at your feet;
find solace
in my head against your chest

Oh that you were still flesh and bone
and not spirit.
Come to me.

My soul faints waiting for you.

Darkness has hidden the love in your eyes
Let me feel the warmth of your embrace

Please.
Do not ask of what I can not give

But oh my king
be ye not far from me.
Let your beloved daughter behold your majesty.

This month, my team and I are in Manila, Philippines working with an organization called Wipe Every Tear. Wipe Every Tear's sole mission is to rescue girls who are trapped in the sex trade.

While here, we are staying at the Hope House with four incredible women who have already been rescued and are now walking in a redemption and a freedom and a joy like you wouldn’t believe. And it has been absolutely incredible to witness. And it has done so much for me in my own journey of freedom.

At night, we go out to the bars and the streets where women are being sold. We try to connect and build relationships with them so they know there are other options here if they decide to leave the sex trade. To show them that Christ is still pursuing them.

About 3 weeks after Training Camp. I wrote this poem (above). It was during a time where I really needed to know and be re-assured of the love that God has for me. And I needed him to meet me where I was. And now, I post it because it is my prayer for the women who are still trapped in the bars and on the streets.

That Love would find them. That they would come to know who they are as daughters of the King. That they would be able to sit at the feet of Jesus. That He would take them in His arms and that they would allow him to heal the broken pieces of their lives. That they would know what it is to walk in freedom. To not live in shame. And to know beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Father’s love for them.
